….The American Dream is a zine inspired by these often untold stories. It is about us, first-generation, second-generation and even third-generation immigrants, and our personal experiences with the American Dream. This zine is about those experiences, the experiences of twelve people who have come from differing parts of the world. The American Dream is not just about the broad outlines of being an American, nor simply being an immigrant, but also about the individual. ..El Sueño Americano es una revista inspirada en estas historias no contadas a menudo. Se trata de nosotros, inmigrantes de primera generación, de segunda generación e incluso de tercera generación, y de las experiencias personales con el sueño americano. Esta revista trata sobre esas vivencias de doce personas que llegaron de diferentes partes del mundo. El Sueño Americano no se trata solo de las líneas generales de ser estadounidense, ni simplemente de ser un inmigrante, sino de la historia completa de ese individuo y todo el proceso que le lleva a ser quien es. ….

….The participants were asked to pick a place and time of choice to have their one on one interviews –– somewhere that made them feel at home, where they can open up and be the most vulnerable. The interviews themselves were extremely casual and conversational, focusing on the topic of the American Dream and what that truly meant to them. By the end of the conversation, each individual filled out their information on a form that resembles that of a visa document. ..Se les pidió a los participantes que decidieranel lugar y el momento de su elección para tener sus entrevistas personales, en algún lugar que los hiciera sentir como en casa, donde puedan abrirse y ser lo más vulnerable posible. Las entrevistas en sí mismas fueron extremadamente informales y de mucha conversación, centrándose en el tema del Sueño Americano y lo que realmente significó para ellos. Al final de la conversación, cada individuo completó su información en un formulario que se parece a un documento de visa. ….
