About The Brand
Café La Llama is a proud family-owned Ecuadorian coffee brand committed to providing quality coffee from Ecuador while leaving a positive environmental footprint, as well as enriching the coffee culture with transparency, creativity, and collaboration with hardworking local producers.
We were tasked with creating a fun-spirited, charming, and environmentally conscious brand, while using La Llama as the hero protagonist. #NoProbLlama

we started with the packaging
Since the star of this project was the packaging, we had to nail down the look & feel of the illustration style to determine the overall brand direction. This was a bit of a backwards approach but hey, we make up our own rules right? We collaborated with Instinto.Ai on the illustrations and after a few rounds of feedback and revisions, we landed on a winner.
Then we moved onto the branding.
Once the illustrations were approved by the client, we began the logo explorations using the llama as the hero of the brand.

The Packaging Design
Café La Llama packaging is 100% SUSTAINABLE, being one of the first companies in Ecuador to bring 100% recyclable packaging specifically for coffee.
The packaging has a low-density polyethylene (LDPE) layer and a vinyl ethylene alcohol (EVOH) layer that works as a barrier against oxygen. High-quality coffee packaging should protect the beans for at least 12 months after the bean is placed in the bag.
